At least he is back. Hopefully, it will be back to his pre-injury form on his next start. I would imagine that he might have been a bit tentative out there yesterday.
Good to see Lowrie back. He could help out around the infield until Petey gets back.
I am concerned about Beckett's first start. I have to believe that he will really be rusty. Bob Ryan and Chad Finn were discussing Becket the other day. They believe that other than 2003 and 2007, he has been a "tease" and not living up to his potential.
We could sure use VMart back soon. Hopefully Petey will return soon, too.

Yep, Buch had a case of the rusts goin. Pitching rehab to AAA hitters ain't the same as doin it for real against the big boys. No one should have expected Cy Young on the boy's very first outing. Perhaps he was trying too hard. Stella will get her groove back and will fall back into her pre-All Star pitching.
ReplyDeleteMixed reviews for Lowrie too, but it's been almost a year since he played major league ball. There was probably a bit of stage fright in him. Now that the first game's out of the way, he should start to get his consistency back.
My best good friend, Mr. John Lackey goes tonight. Friday night lights features the return of what I hope will be Surly Josh Beckett. As with Buch, we can't expect miracles from Josh either. I will be happy with a tantrum from the man, however!! That means the Beckett of old is back.
