Uncle Buch is back...

Nice outing from our up and coming starter.  Two dingers from Big Papi really helped.  Former 'Sox 1B George Scott used to call HRs "long taters".  Atchison was a bit shaky but I attribute that to lack of regular work.  Nice to see Bard not used last night.  Pap had a 25-pitch save.

VMart had a hit which was an encouraging sign.

Will be nice to get Petey and Ells back and soon.

  1. And how 'about that Red Haren? Oh the Angels thought they were big time in getting this guy. To say that he was wiped out's an understatement!!

Buch looked a little off his game initially. I was worried about those first couple of innings. Getting yourself into a bases loaded jam so early in the game will rock your mental state. A year ago, two years ago, the old Buch would have had a meltdown and the game would have slipped away in early innings. The journeyman pitcher was able to work out of it and have a great outing!!

The Globe's "Extra Bases" was gushing about the rock solid lineup now that Vic's back in there. I couldn't agree more! Pedey and Tek are not far behind. Niether is Ells. By the way, it's Ellsbury Bobblehead Night at McCoy on Saturday if anyone can make it!! Mikey should be activated on Friday (trades speculation and all!) This team is a force to be reckoned with when healthy!!

Kudos to Tito for using his head and giving the hold to Atchison. A perfectly excuted outing by the "Freight Train" allowed Paps to come in to seal the deal. See what happens when you use your head, Terry?

Due to Vic's activation, Dusty Brown was sent down. How sad, too bad. He made me very nervous when behind the plate. Glad to see too that the other Uncle Buck, alias Kevin Cash, is still with us.
