Dice-K is in his usual mode...

22 pitches in the 1st inning.  Puts his team in the hole right out of the shoot.  Too bad Theo can't find someone to take Dice-K.  $100M for this guy?  (contract plus the right to bid on him).  So, John Henry, as a finance guy, do you feel that you've gotten a good ROI on this guy?

  1. John Henry's business acumen is questionable. Yes, he's successful in whatever it is that he does, but he trusts one dude to handle the baseball acquistions. Seems to me like Henry should have a bit more of hand in the goings on with the Red Sox instead of giving Theo a "blank check." (no pun intended!) What I'm hoping is that the young Mrs. Henry will outlive Johnny boy and she'll inherit everything. She'll take on the Rachel Phelps persona from "Major League," but without the losing part, and wipe Theo out!! \O/

It's hard to believe that the Dice-K we imported in '07 is not the same guy we're looking at today. Mrs. Brady & I totally believe the WBC was the beginning of the end for him. The Front Office should've laid down the law on that one and forbid the man to pitch. If Dice-K wants to pitch for Japan again, he'll have to wait until his contract with Boston expires.
