Some interesting tidbits in the Globe article. The first is the plethora of outfielders we have at the moment and will have when Ells comes back. Somebody's got to go. Someone will have to go today. If Mikey's activated from the DL, and there is no reason why he shouldn't be (barring a trade or release), a roster spot will have to open up. Earlier this morning, the Globe's Notebook speculated that the "someone" could be Eric Patterson, but that the Sox are enamored with his athletic abilities. Oh really? He didn't look quite so athletic when he wrecked Lester's perfect game. Seems like a no-brainer that this is the guy who's got to go.
Second, Bard must be getting the same question over and over. "How's the arm, Dan?" The article stated that he said that he feels great, but that everyone keeps asking him. It's quite obvious that everyone is noticing that Bard pitches just about every game. If Theo really wants to look like a hero--and we all know he lives for it--he's got to get us some reliable help in the pen.
I'd almost started feeling better over the fact that I missed the Beckett Bowl until the I saw the pictures on WEEI. I started crying all over again. Damn you, District of Columbia!!
