Yankees hitting a tough patch

The KC Royals have been helping Sox by beating the dreaded Yankees. The Globe reports that the Yankees are looking to acquire RHP Dan Haren.

If our starting 5 can get healthy for the stretch, we will be in good shape. It is our bullpen that some help.

Bowden should return in the future from Pawtucket.

  1. You know you've hit the skids when a team like the Royals is beating you. That's like gettin' a whippin' from the Orioles!

So it's Beckett being Beckett. Welcome back, Josh!! I tried really hard to stay up and watch Becketty-boo pitch 'cause I knew it'd be a good game, but I just couldn't make it. I couldn't wait to log on this morning to find out how it turned out. With the kid-glove treatment Beckett has recieved from the Sox, he ought to be in tip-top shape. The rotation is whole again. It's about stinkin' time!!

Along with my glee this morning over Beckett's triumphant return, I had some quiet delight for my boy Scotty Atchison. The Globe's "Extra Bases" blog reported that "Freight Train" Atchison's has a "2.84 ERA and a 1.065 WHIP. On the scale of trustworthiness, Atchison rates behind only Jonathan Papelbon and Daniel Bard in the bullpen." Insert the phrase "I told you so" here!! Theo, if you need someone who knows a thing or two about baseball, call me. I'm only too happy to quit my day job for the Sox. I hope Tito's learned something. Save it; keep it; win it; close it. Hand the ball to guys with the goods. I've been sayin' it all season. The Freight Train's got the goods.

We'll have to watch the goings on with trades in the next few days. It should be interesting, especially if we get a good reliever. I just hope Theo doesn't go ape and give up something we really can't afford to lose down the road.

Well, any productivity I'd hope for tonight has been waylaid by the PawSox. Not only is "The Cat" on the mound for us tonight, but the best 1st baseman/3rd baseman/DH in the Majors is in the lineup tonight. Online radio's a beautiful thing, but I wish I could watch the game! Mikey's already 1-1! GO SOX!!

This just in from the horse's mouth, well Tito's and through those in the know with the PawSox. Ellsbury is expected to play with the Gulf Coast Red Sox on Monday. If all goes well, he could be with the PawSox next week. Where is Mrs. Brady?? See, it's all comin' together!
