I hope our Southpaw is enjoying her stay in Boston. How was Jerry Remy's place?
I loved hearing from Mrs. Tom Brady, who was resting on The Cape, and watching 'Sox players on Dunkin' Donut commercials.
I recall back years ago when I visited my grandparents in Haverhill, MA and thought it was such a treat to see the 'Sox on TV during a week night. It was '69, two years removed from the "Impossible Dream" year and rumor was that Tony Conigliaro would be back soon. 'Sox had moved Yaz from LF to 1B -- why? He was a Gold Glover outfielder.
I may have to take a long weekend escape to Boston soon to take in the Red Sox Nation (and, of course, visit relatives).

Well, truth be told, Southpaw loves it in Boston. If I could get my folks to ship my critters and my books, I think I'd have to bid a fond farewell to H&W. I just keep telling myself that it's not a question of if, but merely when I can stay in Beantown for good.
ReplyDeleteI will be going to Jerry's on Tuesday night for his All Star party. El Tiante will be there as well as Wally and the WS tropies. I have to go buy another baseball because I only brought one with me. I can't have Jerry and El Tiante sign the same ball!
I do hope Mrs. Tom Brady doesn't give up on the Sox completely. They'll bounce back for sure.
SHsage, the Sox will be back at Fenway South at the end of August. You should really come up from Richmond for a game. I know I'll be going to one of those games. We should get the H&W branch of Red Sox Nation to go to a game.
