Big bat on the way...

The Globe reports that VMart may be ready to play in Anaheim.  'Sox could sure use him back.  Hopefully, Petey will be back soon, too.

August-September is the period when we need folks healthy and playing well.

Despite everything, 'Sox are still 4 GB the Devil Rays.  They are within striking distance but cannot afford to lose too much more ground.

  1. Good news for Vic! He caught Buch's bullpen session yesterday without any problems. He said he wanted to test his thumb by catching someone packing heat. Buch can certainly do that. Vic's also able to bat from both sides of the plate, so it's really only a matter of time before he's back in there. Not a moment too soon!

I like the way things are shaping up. Vic's coming back; Buch and Beckett are back; Hermida's back. Ells is gonna play in minor league games this coming week; Pedey's very close (he played catch in tennis shoes!); Mikey's totally there with his 4-4 night with the PawSox. Tek will probably be the last man to come back. I imagine he's a slower heal than the 20-somethings. Not to worry. The Captain will be ready at just the right time.

While ugly, ugly losses like Saturday night's massacre are painful, they aren't the end of the world. The Yankees lost to the Royals. The Royals!! There's still all of August and all of September to go. The roster will be whole again and people like Eric Patterson can be DFA'd someplace far away where no harm can come to anyone. We're gonna peak at just the right time.
