Beckett and Buchholz

are making positive steps reports today's Globe.  It will be nice to get them both back in the rotation.

I just hope they do not rush Buchholz back too soon.  He is too valuable to lose due to arm problems resulting from a change in mechanics to compensate for his leg.  Personally, I would hold him out.

  1. Beckett's supposed to pitch a minor league game in the coming days. Buch should have thrown off the mound today, but the Sox held him back. That's ok. Slow is better. As they've learned from the Ellsbury situation, rushing someone back only makes things worse.

Looking forward to seeing my good buddy John Lackey pitch tomorrow. It only seems like a month ago I was at Camden Yards watching our boys take on the Os and Mr. Lackey entertained me with his 84 mph pitches. Wait...it was a month ago! Same teams, same pitcher, different venue. It's Fenway Park this time. Somehow, Mr. Lackey will be strikingly appealing at home.
