Slipping away?

One cannot help but think that with (i) losses like last night (ii) inconsistent pitching (iii) a shaky bullpen (iv) lingering injuries (v) internal issues with players like Ells and Lowell that time to make a run is slipping away.  Late inning heroics are exciting especially when you win but a team cannot drink at that trough too many times.

Now, Cameron is going back to the DL, Lackey has not strung together a string of quality starts, and other nagging injuries like the one to Youk -- are the 'Sox fading?

  1. It really seems like we're in a bad place right now. When all of the issues are laid out, it looks like we're doomed. But remember, about a month ago, the Sox were 1/2 game out of first place. Things can turn around very quickly. What will help is the resolution of player situations. I can't help but think that inner turmoil has an effect on the guys. Decisions have to be made regarding Ells and Mikey ASAP! I think once the internal uncertainty settles down, everything else will pan out. All of the chaos is making the losses seem that much worse.

The season's far from over. Including today, there are 56 games to be played. That's a lot of baseball and anything can happen between now and the end of the season. I'm not ready to give up on them yet!
