Not very surprised by this turn of events. He was damaged goods before the 'Sox signed him. Looks like 'Sox will use the Two L's (Lowell and Lowrie) @ 1B which I think is a good move.

Yep, another stellar Theo signing!! Atta boy, GM! I suppose if there was a platoon option, I'd rather see Lowell/Lowrie than some yahoo who's career is basically over.
ReplyDeleteAs I said in the previous post, Lowrie may get more opportunities if he continues to hit and Mikey doesn't. Jed's not had many starts at first and his error last night on a fairly routine pop up makes me a little concerned. If the Sox are up in late innings, it would make sense to pinch hit for Mikey with Jed. Jed's a switch hitter, so pitching match ups shouldn't be a major concern. Let Jed get 2-3 innings at first in late innings, but let's not lose our heads and make him the starting first baseman.
