  1. Oh, if it's not a history book, I can't recommend anything good. I'll give you the Southpaw Times Bestsellar List of good baseball books:

    1. Teammates (I thought the book jumped around a lot. One minute you were riding in the car with 3 guys and then next minute you were out fishing with Ted. And you better fish right, too!)

    2. Deep Drive (Mike Lowell) Arguably the best "told to" narrative I've read. I've listened to a lot of interviews with Mikey and I've kind of gotten to know the manner in which he speaks. This book reads exactly like he's speaking to you. Rob Bradford did a hell of a job as a co-author.

    3. Born to Play (Dustin Pedroia) This guy's so totally obsessed with baseball. It's a good story on his rise to the bigs.

    4. Boston's Royal Rooters (Peter Nash) For Sox people, history people and Irish people, this book's one stop shopping.

    5. Faithful (Stephen King and O'Nan) Finally, a book of King's that I am not afraid to read! Why can't he do more books like this!!??

That's all I got. I could list my top ten fave diplomatic history books. If anyone can't sleep at night, call me. I can recommend plenty that will have you drowsy by page 10! This is not a knock against my profession. It just takes a certain kind of mindset to get through some of this heavy stuff.
