Jed Lowrie is hitting real well. Once Petey gets back "Uncle" Jed should be used to rest Mikey Lowell, not Carlos Delgado. Lowrie has worked real hard to get back from 2 frustrating years on injuries. Hope 'Sox don't give up on him too quickly. He has versatility.
Good to hear that Petey might be back next Tuesday. Though I wish Youk was not hurt, he has a quality back up in Lowell.
Okay, I'll admit, I'm over the weekend doldrums and getting hopeful again. Guess a good win against the Yankees can go a long way toward making a 'Sox fan feel better about life.

It finally appears as though Jed Lowrie is on the right track. When taking his wrist injury into account and the time he spent recovering from mono, he's basically lost one full season of playing time. Now Jed's got his groove back. He's healthy and contributing in a big way.
ReplyDeleteThe one problem I have is that he's gone from shortstop to utility man without a lot of time to prep for new positions. He played second on Tuesday and had a couple of miscues because he still has a shortstop's mentality. May I suggest drilling for plays at 2nd? He and Marco don't have the fluidity that Pedey and Marco have because you've essentially got 2 shortstops out there. If they want Jed to play the role of utility man, he's got to be better schooled for the middle infield.
