Boston Red Sox - Kalish turns on the power - The Boston Globe

Okay, I'll admit to being a yo-yo kind of fan this year. One moment, I am optimistic about our chances, the next I'm in the doom and gloom mindset. After last night's win, I start thinking "sweep the Yankees" and get even closer. I get ahead of myself. But think: what if the 'Sox sweep the Yankees? What if they hang in long enough to Pedroia to return and Ells to begin stealing bases? What if Lowell helps to carry the team into September a la 'Yaz in '67?

And, how about Ryan Kalish? Daniel Nava isn't too bad either. Whatever happens this year, the future looks bright.

  1. Yes, it's easy to start thinking sweep after a game like Friday night's. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's take it one game at a time. Awesome O'Clock, aka John Lackey, has to pitch the game of his life tonight. No. Better than that. He's got to be WS Game 7 good. The lineup's got to be the same as yesterday too. Joe Girardi actually said something that makes sense. Girardi? Really? Yes. He said "when I look at a lineup and see Mikey Lowell hitting seventh, that tells me they have a pretty good team." Damn straight!! Don't mess with success, Tito!!

CC stands for Cold Chokin! He's been struggling a bit lately and we need to come at him hard. Rock Pajama Boy's world a little. It's gonna happen!!

Ryan Kalish has done an outstanding job so far! Hitting a homer at Yankee Stadium is huge! But, he can't live in the moment. A lot of times these young guys who get called up come out of nowhere because no one expects them to deliver. Once they do, they start trying too hard and end up bombing out. Ryan, there's nothing wrong with giving 110%, but let it happen on its own.

Hey, we need a nickname for this kid. His name is not conducive to any kind of weird spin. Any suggestions? The media hasn't exactly figured this one out either. He looks like a corn dog. Ryan "Corn Dog" Kalish. If he overcompensates today and doesn't hit anything, he will be the corn dog.
