Splitsville

Obviously, a sweep would have been better.  Poor Wake got thrown into the deep end of the pool having had very little work recently.

    In anticipation of this post, I actually composed it last night after the game ended because I was so peeved. Let me point out that this game had issues written all over if from the get go!!

    First of all, Wake shouldn't have started. Yep, I said it. I know he's one of my boys and all, but he hadn't started since July 20 and hadn't worked since the weekend. There was no reason Lester couldn't have started as planned and Buch pitch on Friday night. With the off day today, it wouldn't have hurt him.

    Second, what the heck is with having a minor league ump think he's big time and eject someone for a misunderstanding? Beltre was not talking to the ump but in Spanish to King Felix. This yahoo umpire needs to go! We were already weakened with Cash in the lineup and we got hurt again when Beltre was removed. This leads to the third mistake of the night. Navarro shouldn't have come in to play third. Mikey should've come out instead. We then had 2 weak bats with Cash & Navarro in there.

    Fourth, Mikey's pinch hit long single gets a man on in the last of the 9th. D-Mac should've pinch hit for Nava. Let's face it, D-Mac's come through in the clutch before. If he gets on, we've got runners at 2nd & 1st and avoid the double play. Nope. Nava GIDP. Pretty much game over.

    We had an opportunity to be only 4 1/2 games out of first. Instead, management & one idiot umpire got us beat. Swell.
