A look into the future?

Ryan Kalish, Daniel Nava, and Jed Lowrie -- future mainstays in the 'Sox lineup?  Could be.  Kalish is batting .500 since his call-up.

Another wild one in Fenway tonight.

  1. Well that's great that we have such a good farm system that we can call on guys like Kalish, Nava, Bowden & Felix when we're in a pinch. Yes, the Sox have some good prospects who'll be stars in a few years. Years?? What about right now??

Let's play a game called Musical Players, better known in syndication as "What if Mikey Had Been Activated?" Youk comes out with a jammed thumb so Vic is relieved of his catching duties and is sent to fill in at first. In comes Kevin Cash. Now Uncle Buck was a fine understudy when both catchers went down, but he hasn't hit at all since he's been back with the team. We all know why he was brought back. The need for a catcher outweighed the need for a hitter. That has since changed. By putting him in, the Sox replaced a power hitter with a non-hitter. Had Mikey been activated, he could've gone to first & Vic could've stayed behind the dish--no loss of power hitters. Mikey's bat in the lineup could've made a difference in the game. We may even have won. Nice going Theo!
