I think this sums it up. I am very proud of the way these 'Sox have hung in there and not allowed injuries to keep them out of the hunt.

Reality set in on Sunday night. The fact of the matter is that for whatever reason, the Sox just aren't good enough this year. It's easy to blame injuries, starting pitching, lack of chemistry or the bullpen for the woes. The plain and simple truth is that it's just not our year. But am I about to bash the team and the fans for unrealistic expectations like certain members of the media? Hell no!! This bunch of scrappers is in third place despite playing 48 different players this season. We're better than healthy Toronto and Baltimore!! If that's not saying much, just take comfort in the fact that the two teams at the bottom can't make it any higher when all their guys are running full throttle!
ReplyDeleteSo now it's just about enjoying baseball for baseball's sake. No more pressure. Mrs. Brady and I will be coming to you live from Camden Yards on Thursday night. We're going to kick back with some beers and our boys and just ride the rest of the season out.
