Okay, I'm ready for interleague play to be over...

of course, if the 'Sox had not lost in such a disappointing way last night I would be singing a different tune.  Pap is just not the automatic "save king" anymore.  These gut wrenching losses are tough.  I would rather get blown out than to lose like that.

  1. What can be said after a loss like this? Well...it happens. Old McDonald and the AAA outfield looked pretty good to me. I think it speaks volumes about the quality of the Sox farm system.

I too am so over interleague play. I'm sorry, but Big Papi playing first is just wrong! I have to say that the truth about our John Lackey has spread far and wide. I had to listen to the boring, albeit respectful, Colorado announcers on my satellite feed last night and they were saying that Lackey is just not the pitcher he used to be with the Angels. Although he has an 8-3 record, he's gotten a lot of run support from the boys in order to notch those 8 wins. Um...yeah! We've been saying that all season! I was rather amused by Mr. Lackey's double. Not only was it entertaining to watch the pitcher hit, but he seemed genuinely tickled that he reached second base! In his former life, he was a first baseman, so he should be able to make some kind of contact. His attempt at a bunt was, in contrast, quite painful to behold!

I am seething at Tito right now. Just as I predicted, Mikey Lowell's homecoming to the scene of his '07 WS MVP has been a major disappointment. Mikey, forced to bat on Tuesday night with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th and trailing by 1, hit a rocket to the shortstop who was able to recover and throw him out. The man hasn't played since the 13th! Even Tek got in the game last night! Terry goes on WEEI spouting the same old BS about Mikey understanding the team's there to win and how the Sox really can't release him in case Youk, Beltre or Ortiz gets hurt. You're an idiot, Terry! This is not how you manage! Mikey will not be of any help to this team if he doesn't get more consistent ABs! How hard is this to figure out?? A good manager can get playing time for all his guys. It's as if Terry doesn't want to. Underneath my excitement of the Sox surging up the AL East flagpole is rage over the whole Lowell situation. If you can't manage your players correctly, Tito you can't manage at all!!
