Nice homestand

They swept the Dodgers with a gutsy performance by Buchholz supported
by great defensive plays. The defense picked him up after he threw 30
pitches in the first inning!

Timely hitting and good defense coupled with solid pitching has
enabled our sox to begin breathing down the necks of the Yanks.

Devil Rays have slowed.

Drew may not have to go on the DL. I woulsd stay with the outfield
lineup and keep Drew out They are winning without him.

Tito is still using Bard far too much. Doesn't he review the numbers?!!

  1. It was an incredibly nice homestand! It's also nice to break the dreaded curse of the Two-Thirds Club. No worries about Buch and his 30 pitches that first inning. Our beloved Curt Schilling, guesting on ESPN, lamented the fact that Buch had given the opposition the opportunity to view all his pitches in the first inning. But for all that "advantage," it sure as hell didn't help Dodger Blue out. He pitched like an All Star. It was also nice to see the offense pick him up, though I would have preferred the annihilation score of double digits for our boys. But, we'll take the win!

Did we not predict the slow implosion of the Rays? Reality check, gentlemen! I think we'll be rid of the Yankees too before long. They are on the road in AZ with the Diamondbacks. The Snakes may have better luck at home than on the road. They have a terrible road record, but a homestand may liven them up a bit. I'm pulling for their resurgence against them stinkin' Yanks.

If all goes well, Drew should be back in the lineup this week. If he's not on the DL and is able to play, he'll be out in right. Yes, the Sox have had great success with their patchwork outfield, but they'd probably prefer old tried and true in right if he's physically able to stand upright and make those catches.

I cringe everytime Bard starts to throw. If we lose him to a shoulder injry, we're in a world of trouble. Atchison is coming along really well and he ought to be pitching more than he is. He's in long relief, but let's not make it too long between starts. Sit Bard down for a few days, Tito.

Here's hoping the boys can take the show on the road. I personally hate West Coast trips. The games are on too late for us easterners that have to get up early in the morning. I may have to rely on the Globe for the skinny 'cause I don't know if I'll be able to catch most of these games this next road trip. Colorado and SF this week.

And, what's the big idea with another Monday off?? What the heck am I gonna do tonight?
