Pete Carroll, former Patriot coach, is now in charge at Seatlle. He is their head coach with expanded authority over player personnel. He was in New England in between Bill Parcells and current coach Bill Belicheck. While in New England, his teams struggled though he was an ebullient sideline presence. Owner Bob Kraft, who was originally enfatuated with Carroll's presence, fired him.
From New England, he went to USC and led them to numerous PAC-10 titles and 2 National Championships. He coached a few Heisman Trophy winners along the way. But, before USC is slapped with probation and other penalities for numerous player and recruiting violations, he flees back to the NFL. Now, USC is facing numerous and harsh penalties.
Shouldn't Coach Carroll be held accountable in some way for what happened at USC on his watch there? I don't understand. Where will he go next when his tenure at Seattle implodes -- back to the college ranks?
