Admittedly, I had not heard of this kid before. I thought that I a decent feel on some of the 'Sox top prospects, but this guy is a new one on me. But, he made history! Only the 4th player in MLB history to hit a Grand Slam at his first AB.

ReplyDeleteI'd read in the Globe yesterday morning that the Sox sent Reddick back to Pawtucket because they didn't want him getting inconsistent playing time in the bigs, and that they were bringing up this kid Nava as a replacement. All I can say is WOW!! Arguably, the Red Sox have THE best farm system in baseball. You know the city of Boston is a little cramped this morning 'cause Theo's ego is 10 times bigger than it was yesterday!
Are we shocked that Dice-K's back on the DL? Did we think his comeback was a little too good to be true?? It's frustrating to say the least. He was going along there pretty good. I have to admit that I thought this was going to be the year of Dice-K. Why would I allow myself to be lulled into such a fairy tale??
A word on Friday night's game since there was no blogging yesterday. It's just plain 'ol fashion whoop-ass! I love a game like Friday when the score's like 100-0 Sox!! This, my friends, is the way Red Sox baseball's supposed to be played: complete annihilation of the opposition!! The offense was so good that no one really said anything about Lackey. You know, Friday may have been his best outing of the season!! And, of course, you know it's coming! How could I not comment on Mikey Lowell's bomb!! I don't think there was anyone else jumping up and down in their living room like I was on Friday night...well, maybe Mrs, Lowell! In your face, Theo! I think Mikey proved his worth ten-fold on Friday night. I hope the scouts were watching. Theo, this whole Mikey thing will come back to bite you at some point!!!
