Opening Day Behind Us Now

Though it would have been nicer to win opening day, at least it is behind us now.  161 to go.  It's not how you start, it's how you finish.  'Sox have never played well against the Rangers in April.  One game does not make a season.

So, hand the ball the Buchholz and let's get that first "W" for 2011.

  1. It's ok. It takes a minute or two for Stella to get her groove back. Opening Day's full of so much hype. It's as if the whole season hinges on how that 1 games goes. We know better.

There were a lot of positives out of Opening Day. The batting order was the bomb. Ells certainly proved he's put last season behind him. Gonzo looked good and I thought Salty did alright for an Opening Day.

I have to admit that when Youk made a bobbling error at third, I thought, "Mikey wouldn't have done that." (Yes, learning to live without Mikey at third's going to take some time.) All-in-all, I thought we got the hyped up game out of our system and can now settle down to play real baseball.

Awesome O'Clock, aka John Lackey, is on the hill tonight. I haven't seen him pitch since last season (yes, it's true Mrs. B.), so I'm looking for him to have a big game with a slimmer, trimmer outlook.
