Staying away from the Boston sportswriters today
I can only imagine what they are writing this morning. I suspect these same folks who were writing previously and speculating about a 100-win season are now turning to gloom and doom. A 3-1 loss to Cleveland does not help. But, once the 'Sox straight stringing together some W's, these 100-win prognosticators will come out of the wood work again.

Actually, the media was rather realistic this morning. It's the fans who've gone off the deep end. Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe told the freak-a-zoids to calm down. Four games in April ain't gonna break this team. The Sox need to find their stride--and they will. I think the newbies are trying way too hard. Guys like Crawford feel like they have to live up to their million dollar contract and over compensate. Once the winning starts in earnest, these newbies can relax and just play good baseball.
ReplyDelete(A disclaimer: due to the enormity of academic issues, I am willing myself to watch the first inning only and then turn the game back on at 9:30, my normal stop work time. Friday nights I will watch the games from start to finish, but just like the Sox needing to find their stride, so I need to keep mine. I will have to rely on the good folks in the press and ESPN highlights to fill the void until the research phase is over.
