LHP Doubront (Felix the Cat) should provide immediate help. I wonder if they gave up too quickly on Reyes?

Personally, I was dumbfounded that Reyes was given a spot in the pen over Scott Atchison. Yes, Reyes is a lefty and Choo-choo Charlie isn't, but honestly, I think the need to have a lefty outweighed Reyes's overall ability. I was not impressed with him at all. Ditto for Matt Albers. I saw him get lit up a ton of times when he was with Baltimore and wrote him off as not being worth it. Now, DL. Superb. I thought 'Fredo should've been given a spot in the pen from day one. And the Cat is Back!! He logged some miles for us last season, so there should be nothing to shock him now.
ReplyDeleteIncidently, if Tito had listened to me, perhaps we wouldn't have had 6 terrible games. Today's lineup features Ells at the bottom of the heap. When he was in that spot last season--albeit for like 6 games--he produced royally. I said from day 1 of Spring Training that the #9 hole was where he needed to start the season. I'm not sure if lead-off is the best place for Carl Crawfish either (yes, this moniker is a keeper.) He's already having enough of a spasm playing for Boston as it is. Leading off will not decrease his woes. Scu-scu-Scutaro should be the lead off guy. He did it last season and was quite good at it.
I'm not too worried about Youk. You can't keep a guy like that down for long. He'll start swinging a hot bat before too long.
Tito, call me! Seriously!
