The Nation has spoken. Tito has spoken. Showalter is eating crow. There was no "taken out of context" to be had. Man up, dude! You said what you said because, I don't know, you're an idiot! There was no way the Nation was going to let this guy slide. If he had a team that could back up his words it might seem like just trash talk from a rival. But the fact of the matter is that the Orioles have bombed out since 1989! I think they'll have a better year this year, but they won't take down the Red Sox. You wonder what goes through peoples' minds when they give an interview.
ReplyDeleteEven mild-mannered Tito took exception to the comments. This is the same guy who quietly diffused the whole Ozzie-Bobby Jenks thing. So for Terry to openly say he was peeved, it must have been true. It's one thing to criticize inside the Nation. It's quite another for someone on the outside to take a cheap shot.
