I keep telling myself that it's only Spring Training, that these games do not count. It is just nice to see a team playing so well as it prepares for opening day. The expectations for this team are high. Injuries from last season have healed. Theo went out and added more power and speed to the lineup. And, he has re-stocked his bullpen.
About two weeks until opening day and counting!

I can't let this go by without stealing something from Jerry Remy. "Who's afraido Alfredo?" Them Yankees!! I know it's corny, but it's so Jerry Remy!!
ReplyDeleteI read in disbelief that the Yankees didn't exactly think Fredo's work ethic was up to snuff when he was with them. Well his work ethic looked pretty good to me last night. I also read that the cat they had pitching for them last night, who was actually pretty good, has been deemed unlikely to make the team. What?? Ok, settle on Bartolo Colon and the embarassment that comes with that!! It's going to be ugly in July, Mr. Cashman. You'll have Red Sox Nation in you face and your starters in the toilet. But I digress. The Sox look good! It was fun to see Gonzo play. I'll admit that I've never seen him play before. I can't stand the Padres, so unless they were playing the Sox, I wouldn't have subjected myself to watching that show. I'm already impressed with Gonzo, how he handles himself and how he plays. He's a left-handed first baseman like me!! (I couldn't pitch every day, so what do you do with a left-handed infielder? Put them at first. So, I know what the softball diamond looks like from that bag.)
I can't wait for the season to start. The whole anti-Yankee thing is really cranked for me already. Yes, I'm a hater. Sometimes that's ok.
