Within this article is another instance in which Pap struggled again. His fastball is clocking at 91 mph and he seems to be struggling with his other pitches. Call me a worry wart, but I would not have him in the closer's role until he can work through these issues. Tito has other options with closers.

Yes, there seems to be some "thing" with Pap. Whether it's mechanical or mental, he's struggling right now. A lot of times he won't talk to the media after an implosion. I wouldn't want to either, but dude, that's part of the job. These guys bring the stress of their personal lives to their jobs just like everyone else. There could be nothing mechanically wrong with Pap, but if he's dealing with an issue, it's gong to affect his pitching. This is his last contract year with Boston. If he blows a lot of saves this season, he's going to be hard pressed to get a lucrative deal somewhere else. Since he had issues last season, and really the season before, we cannot blame Curt Young!
