On Monday night, Buchholz had a solid outing. Last night, Beckett held Cleveland to 1-run and lowered his ERA to 1.69. In this day and age, that kind of ERA is outstanding.
Nice contribution from 'Tek. A-Gonz continues to be a hitting machine.
I just keep wondering when Craw-fish will come to life.

Raise your hand if you're in love with Josh Beckett?? \O/ I mean, we've waited a LONG time for dominance like this. We didn't even think this Beckett would be back. We thought we'd gotten some guy who looked like Beckett but was too busy putting flowers in guns and not pitching well. Finally, finally, the fired up Beckett is back!! NESN panned to a shot of him in the dugout after Rich Hill had struck out an Indian to end the inning. Josh was shouting obsecenities and pumping his fists. That's guy I want pitching for us!
ReplyDeleteAnd, gotta give some love to Blanket, er, Tek. First home run in almost a year!! I think Tek had a rough couple of years there with his diminished role and his personal life implosion. Some thought the man was done. Nope! Sorry! If I was the Sox owner, I'd make sure Tek was on the team as long as he's able to crouch behind the dish. If he can elicit that kind of performance from Beckett, his value to the team is beyond words.
Beckett and Tek. Two guys who'd been written off are now a force to be reckoned with! And what happened? Well, let's see. Beckett got married and Tek's engaged. It just goes to show that behind every floundering man is a woman who'll kick his ass!
