Was our "Southpaw" at Fenway tonight?

  1. I have lapsed in my postings due to a hotel room without free wi-fi. The nerve of some people wanting to charge for this!

Anywho, yes I was at Wednesday night's Fog Fest. I was located in the first set of lodge boxes behind home plate. Fenway's awesome, but unless you are UNDER the green overhang, there is no escaping the dripping water coming off said overhang. Such was my fate. Whenever the wind blew, the water droplets, big 'ol fat ones too, came tumbling down. Knowing Boston as I do, I had dressed somewhat appropriately for the occassion. I donned a long-sleeve shirt, sweat-shirt with a hood and my nylon bull pen jacket. Sadly, this attire was not enough to repel the monster-life water droplets from the edge of the overhang. Everything was soaked; I was soaked.

Had the conditions been more favorable, my seats would have been the bomb. In actuality, the umpire probably had as much difficulty in seeing the ball as the hitters did until it was right on top of them. The fog and the mist were something out of a Stephen King novel--and hey, he's a diehard Sox fan.

I thought Buch pitched extremely well depsite the horrible conditions. I don't think any of those guys wanted to be out there either, but for millions of dollars, the conditions weren't THAT bad!

Due to my wet seal state of being, I exited the game in the 6th inning. I figured by the time I made it back to the hotel, the game would be over. When I stepped off the T stop at the hotel, it was pouring, but by the time I made it into the hotel room, the rain delay was not only over, but play would resume. I watched the rest of the game with glee! Way to grunt out a win in wretched conditions, gentlemen!!
