So far this season, it clearly has been one of two games forward and three games back -- no consistency. Right when they seem to be getting it going, they hit a 2-3 game slide.

I wrote my own headline before the game tonight. Chalk it up to blind over-confidence in one Mr. Lackey. Hoped for the best; prepared for the worst, and we got the worst. Seriously, bad pitching and lame-o managing cost us this game. Hello Curt Young?? Are you freakin alive in the dug out? The count's 3-1, 2 outs, bases loaded. Why in the name of all that is baseball does idiot, moron, freak-a-zoid Curt Young WAIT until Lackey walks IN A RUN to go out to the mound for a chat? I've never been a pitching coach, but at that moment a pep talk seems like...A LITTLE TOO LATE!! Salty faired no better. If you want to be a leader, son, you swallow your stinkin' pride and go out to the mound knowing that your starter's probably going to lob a ton of expletives in your face!! Who the crap cares when the game's on the line??

Poor Wake. Come on in, antique pitching machine. At this point, we're out of it so you may as well throw your side session in front of everyone. No need to do in the pen where we can't see you. Pay no attention to the 8 guys behind you. They're not really there!!!
We'll limp into Yankee Stadium now for what I'm sure will not be a pretty series. Fab. Yes, I'm angry!! Someone please explain what is wrong with this team!! To make matters worse, if that's possible, I am supposed to be sitting field level behind home plate at Fenway next Wednesday night. The long-range forecast is for a 60% chance of showers :/
