Living up to pre-season billing (finally)

Today, our 'Sox sit atop their division with a 2-game lead over the Yankees.  Their potent lineup enables them to score runs in bunches.  We are seeing this potency despite Pedey nursing a sore knee, Craw-fish hovering around .240, Youk not hitting his stride yet, and Drew struggling at the plate.

So, what gives?  The return of Ells, the re-emergence of Big Papi, and A-Gonz's steady presence as a patient hitter who has already knocked in 58 runs.

On the pitching front, we have seen the much-welcomed return of Beckett to complement Lester and Buchhholz.  But wait, there's more.  Lackey has pitched better in his last 2 starts and the # 5 starter role has been filled nicley by Wake and Aceves.

  1. Don't you just love a good beating? I mean a serious whollop? For the second series in a row, the Sox sweep and they not only swept the Jays, but positively crushed them! This is what baseball is about: the utter destruction of one's opponent!!

Does anyone think Johnny Farrell has some regrets? Yes, you don't make a lot of money as a pitching coach for Boston, but hey at this rate, you would've at least gotten another World Series ring! You're not gettin one of those in Toronto, Johnny Boy!

From a female's perspective, getting married was the best thing that could've happen to Beckett, and getting engaged was the best thing that could've happened to Tek. Since these women entered the picture, these guys have returned to their old selves. Girl power!

Ok, I still love John Lackey! He did a hell of a job yesterday. What makes that start stand out as positively good is the fact that he got the run support he didn't have last season. Still, on his own, Awesome O'Clock pitched a doozie!

I'm sad there will be no baseball on Monday night. Now, I'm really forced to focus on academics. Thank you, baseball scheduling people :/
