Highs and lows, ups and downs

They took 3 of 4 from the Tigers, had been sweeping others series, and catapulted into first place.  Now, they have hit a 3-game skid onl fall out of first place.  Aceves struggled mightily but our 'Sox did not quit.  They mounted a nice comeback from a 10-1 deficit.

Time for them to reach deep down and take this final game from the ChiSox.

  1. As much as we'd like to think our boys can win every series, it just isn't possible. Go figure how we can topple a team like the Yankees only be toppled by a team like the ChiSox!

A lot of discussion is swirling around about who gets sent back to the bullpen when Lackey re-joins the rotation. If you ask me, 'Fredo Aceves is the most logical choice. I don't think the man has the staying power of a starter. I think he can be more effective in relief. And why shouldn't Wake be given the opportunity for 200 career wins? He's earned a starter's spot. He's been damn good for being way old! (Disclaimer: I love Tim!)

So, we ride the low tide right now after getting swept by Ozzie and friends. A day off Thursday will do the boys a world of good. And, can I complain for just a second here? The Sox were scheduled to play a night game on Saturday. That's perfect for those of us who are otherwise occupied during the day on Saturday. However, because the Bruins are also scheduled for a night game, the Sox moved their game to the afternoon! WHY???? There are those of us who count on baseball games. Night games. Yes, happy for the Bruins, but no need to rearrange everyone else's life 'cause they're in the Stanley Cup thingy!! Geez!
