I am absolutely opposed to this and think it's a bone-headed decision by management to even consider it. Let's be serious, Tito! Why risk an injury to our best player at a position he's barely played? There's no reason, depending on the numbers against oppposing pitchers, why A-Gon and Papi can't alternate starts at 1st, or sub Ortiz in there in late innings if need be. I'd hate to go into the All Star break with A-Gon on the DL for some stupid injury sustained while playing the outfield!
ReplyDeleteTo even consider this is to get a guy hurt. We've got enough depth all the way around that we can pinch for guys. I really hope Tito DOES NOT make this move for the road trip. He's asking for trouble long term. Let's not forget that A-Gon is not that far removed from shoulder surgery!
