Quiet on the 'Sox front

Bad break for the Cardinal pitcher, Wainwright, who will require the Tommy John procedure and miss all of 2011.  You hate to see injuries like this in Spring Training.

Looking forward to when the exhibition games begin and we can start reading about how players are coming along.  Hope some of the young guys have a chance to play and draw attention.

Good that Gonzo took a day off from swinging the bat -- let's not rush him back too soon.

  1. I think the Wainwright situation is every club's nightmare. Something had to be out of whack with him already, though. Tough thing for them. We have our own Tommy John survivor in Junichi Tazawa. I haven't seen any reports that he's throwing yet, but I hear his progress is going well.

Go-Go-Gadget Gonzo did indeed get the day off from the tee. I know it was touted as precautionary, but you wonder if he woke up a bit stiff? You would almost expect that since he hasn't swung in as many months. Best to baby him now versus July!!

Oh those exhibition games!! Now hear this. I'm not switching on my Directv until Opening Day! I fear for my academic productivity beyond April 1. I must cram through the entire exhibition season!! Dissertation Adviser, you've been warned!!
