Ells cannot start at the top, no matter how good a spring he has. Ideally, he's got to get his sea legs back and produce. I think by June, we can flip the order around. And, I think there's no shame in sliding Big Papi down from clean-up. Again, here's another one that has to dust off the cobb-webs of last season. For the past two seasons, it's been June since we've seen the real Big Papi. If the pressures off him by having the big guns hit ahead of him in the order, I think the Papi of old will show up sooner than June.
The guys tell reporters that they don't care what hole they come out of so long as they're in the lineup. I think that's a bunch of hooey. You know the ego train most of these jocks ride. Of course they care! But if you're not producing out of your slot, you're gonna get shuffled. Unlike last season, I hope Tito can come up with a workable, effective lineup early in the season and stick to it!!
