John Farrell
Have been reading some very good reports on John Farrell in his new role at Toronto. Sure going to miss his calm presence on the team and overall professionalism. I wish him well in Toronto. Many baseball pundits also believe that he has a future in being a GM one day. I think that the 'Sox were very fortunate to have had John as pitching for the past few years given the interest that other teams expressed in him.

I hated to see John Farrell go because I hate change. He'd been there for a while and all the pitching staff was comfortable with him. He didn't over coach when guys got into trouble. Together with Tito and Mags, they were the Holy Trinity of the Sox. He was the old shoe that a starter could rely on.
ReplyDeleteNow we got a new guy. He's not exactly unfamiliar with our boys, having seen them throw against Oakland when he was with that club. But he's a newbie that I hope won't over do it. Curt, you don't need to over-coach, over emphasize and over correct. You need to get familiar with our crew in game situations. You don't need to come to the mound constantly because that's not what our pitchers are used to. This is the AL East, a tough, freakin' division. Let our pitchers be pitchers and go with the flow.
Some people say change is good. I say, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it!"
