7 years as the A's pitching coach. Seems to be a stable guy.

  1. I'd like to give Mr. Young a piece of advice: watch a lot of videos this offseason. Don't show up to spring training with grandiose ideas about changing the world. If you get to know the pitching staff through videos, it won't feel like your first day...on your first day!!

I cringed when I heard John Farrell was leaving. It's hard to break in someone new because they think they have to over-manage in order to prove their worth right out of the box. Learn a lesson from Theo, Mr. Young. Don't try to fix what isn't broken.

On the plus side, (and yes, there is one), Curt might come in and get in Beckett's face. Maybe that boy needs a good, swift kick in order to wake him up from his transcendental state since the '07 WS. Nothing wrong with meditating, Josh, but you can't do on the mound during a game! Perhaps Mr. Young might be the "Beckett fixer." If this guy can get us the old Beckett back, he will have totally won me over. Good luck, Curt!!
