Dice-K Tonight

He brings his 9.90 ERA to Fenway to face the Blue Jays.   It would be great to see him get out of the 1st inning without any BB or ER.  Otherwise, it will be a long night for the bullpen.

    Dice, Dice baby!! Wow!! The Dice-K we hoped we'd have showed up tonight! He pitched a great game! The fact that he did not walk a single batter is a miracle in itself! Dice-K was the Japanese god of walks in prior seasons. His fastball was really working for him! Mixing pitches will come, but a quality start is the most important thing right now. It's still a long season. Ok, exhale. I feel better.

    And, how about Tek's laser show? Good stuff for a guy who was pretty much given up for done. Tek's in a great place. The pressure's off. He can concentrate on the staff and whatever happens offensively for him is just cake. He's a much better receiver than V-Mart and I think, calls a better game. True, both catchers can't stop the running game, but there's a level of comfort with Tek that I think is just not quite there yet with Vic. Ok Theo, we'll give you one point for bringing back Tek.

    I'm sure all of Red Sox Nation cringed when Drew and D-Mac had a near collision in the outfield. Drew does not need another injury. Communicate, gentlemen! Nancy is on the more delicate side.

    Okie-dokie. Game over! The karma from Pedey's "high reds" is workin! An afternoon game tomorrow means a long lunch for me!

    A big shot in the arm from Dice-K. Sounds as if Beckett's back spasms will cause him to miss his scheduled Friday start. I would rather have him work through these injuries now than later.
