'Sox don't know the meaning of "quit"
Though I had thrown in the towel on our beloved Sox' 2010 season, apparently no one has told the players. They continue to come back after routs and play hard. I like what I see in Kalish, Reddick, and Lars Anderson. Throw Daniel Nava in the mix and that's a pretty young group of talent. Plus, they are playing against a playoff contender in September. This certainly bodes well for next year.

It's nice to be back in Red Sox Nation. After spending the weekend in Arizona Diamondback country and then two days in Atlanta Braves land, I can honestly say I've missed the Nation terribly. Being away offered a little snippet of the doldrums of the off season. I'm not looking forward to November-mid-February. With that said, in the interest of full disclosure, I know nothing (NOTHING) about football. Once the curtain closes on our Sox for the season, I will await the hot stove and come back on then.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it may seem like a long shot for the Sox to make the post-season, don't count them completely out until the last game is played. Yes, this has been the season of the stubbed toe, but if they keep playing with the same intensity as Wednesday night...Just sayin.
The kids from Pawtucket have certainly played well. Why shouldn't they? They have nothing to lose. The veterans don't want to go home yet, so combined with the kids' energy, they've played good ball.
So now we're headed to the west coast, which has both good and bad points. The good news is that the games are on late, so I get a bunch of things done before they come on. The bad news is that the games are on late, which means only a couple of innings for me if they fall on weeknights. I'll take what I can get as the season slowly starts to wind down.
Anyone interested in selling everything they own to go to the last game of the season against the Yankees and Fenway? That's probably going to be Mikey Lowell's last game ever. It would be great to be there for it.
