Beckett angry about 'snitches' with Red Sox

This outburst does not help build trust in the clubhouse. My feeling is "Josh, you had some lapses in judgement. You admitted that. Now own up to it and quit pointing fingers. 2011 is history. Nothing is going to change that. Just focus on 2012 and get your head right. Learn from your lapses and move on. "

I did not find Bobby V's comments reassuring.

  1. You know what? I'm not angry with Beckett. WEEI had a piece this morning on Facebook regarding the now tiresome September collapse. It seems as though Josh was personally preoccupied with the birth of his daughter right around season's end. So, I've got no problem with that. But if I'm Beckett, hell yeah I'm angry with the snitches! Little girls in middle school tattle. Grown men making millions aren't supposed to. He has every right to be upset with whoever blabbed. Josh is not on this team by himself. Everybody knows, including him, that he made mistakes. But the soap opera dirt should not have left the clubhouse! I don't think Beckett's pointing fingers. I think he wants to move on. You know who I'm pissed at? The media. These morons with the cushy Spring Training jobs are supposed to be writing about this season's baseball, but instead they prefer the gossip and epic collapse of last year! If anyone needs to move on, it's the media. Yeah, WEEI, I'm talking to you! But to blame Josh Beckett entirely for the downfall of last season is not fair. Every single player on the last year's 40-man is responsible. Tito, I think, is at fault too. Love him and all he did for the Red Sox, but if you can't rule with an iron fist, you just plain can't rule.
