I hope that I am wrong and I hope that Cherington has a big picture plan in mind. But, I am a bit concerned about an apparent lack of direction (the "vision thing"). Realizing that he is still trying to get his sea legs as GM, I am a little concerned about this guy's vision. Is he committed to the 'Sox farm system? Does he have in place good scouts to find tomorrow's superstars, particularly in the international markets? Will he avoid the free agent signing busts of Drew, Lackey, Clement, Renteria, et al?
Sox not spending? We aren’t buying

I hate Cherington. Yes, I know I hated Theo too. Why can't we get a GM with a clue about baseball? In Boston, a complacent GM will NOT do! This whole thing about not spending reeks of someone who is WAY in over his head. If he thinks the gaggle of minor-league talent (at best) is the answer for the #4 & #5 spots in the rotation, he's freaking dreaming!! And, we have 2 utility guys in Punto and Aviles competing for shortstop! Seriously, what is going on here?
ReplyDeleteWord on the street is that my beloved Edwin Jackson signed with the Nationals!! A 1-year deal. I am so outraged right now!! Not only did we lose a great pitcher, but now said pitcher will join a doormat of a team!!
Hey genius GM, YOU CANNONT MAKE UP GAMES AT THE TRADE DEADLINE IN JULY!!!!!
The season hasn't even started and I need therapy already!!
