Scutaro's trade to free up $6M

Reports are that Cherington wants now to pursue Oswalt.  Given his back history, this could be rolling the dice.  I like Oswalt and teports are that he would agree to 1-year deal.  We will have to wait and see.

  1. Does anyone have a phone number for the Front Office? How can we get a message to Dumbass to steer clear of Oswalt and sign Edwin Jackson instead?

Why is it that every potential signee is prefaced with "back problems," shoulder ailment," "dismal 2011 season"? I'm telling you, Edwin Jackson is the real deal! Oswalt used be to prime real estate, but honestly, his health issues are a concern. Even for 1-year, I wouldn't take a chance on him. Are the Phillies so stacked with pitchers that they're not willing to take Oswalt back after the coup they orchestrated to get him in the first place, or are they seeing something negative in his health?

    EDWIN JACKSON!!!! PLEASE!!

BTW, in an effort to keep up with my newest baseball budds, Chris Rose and Millar, I joined Twitter. @ColdWar61. Perhaps this will also be the medium to let Cherrington know he's chasing the wrong guy.

  2. Edwin Jackson is a career .500 pitcher. What's the allure?
